Characters and their traits

Cheese : A metaphor for what you want to achieve in life. Could be Money, Fame or Happiness.
Maze : Metaphor for organization, family or community.

The book is about the story of above four characters roaming through a maze in search of ‘Cheese’. As they roam through the maze, they are faced with unexpected experiences. Sometimes they couldn’t find cheese, sometimes the cheese runs out. All four use four different strategies while looking for cheese. One of them eventually deals with change successfully and writes what he has learned on the maze walls for you to discover your ‘Cheese’.

Below is the compilation of Quotes, Insights and stories I really liked :

  1. Smell the cheese often So you know when it is getting old.
  2. If you do not change, You can be extinct.
  3. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.
  4. Do not get too comfortable in your place. Notice the smallest change and plan accordingly.
  5. The quicker you let go of old things, the sooner you find new cheese.
  6. It is safer to search in maze, than remain in a cheeseless situation.
  7. There is always new cheese out there whether you recognize it at time or not.

Sniff and Scurry already knew the cheese was running out, they quickly went out to search the new cheese. But ignorant Hem & Haw were quite surprised when cheese was totally finished.

The change would only surprise you only if you didn’t expect it and weren’t looking for it. Noticing small changes early helps you adapt to bigger changes that are to come.

At one moment Hem & Haw ran out of Cheese. They were afraid to search for new cheese in maze. Instead of searching for new cheese, they sat at the same place and starved.

The fear you build up in your mind is worse than situation
